John Sudyam, long-serving Chief Legal Officer at Apollo Global Management received about $8.4m in total compensation during the 2022 financial year, according to a report by Bloomberg, citing a proxy statement filed by the the private equity firm on Friday.
The filing shows that Suydam’s compensation package comprised a $2.5m annual base salary plus over $3.9m in stock awards. He also received an additional $1.9m in additional compensation, a sum that includes a $250,000 partner benefits stipend.
Suydam, who joined Apollo in 2006, is stepping down at the end of this year, when he will transition to a senior advisory role, with Whitney Chatterjee, a former partner at Sullivan & Cromwell, set to replace hime.
Chatterjee joined Apollo earlier this year as general counsel for its asset management and retirement services business.
